parties

The other day, the Bear and I were talking to a friend and I mentioned that “I just don’t know how I feel about people who thrive on the company of others.” Friend looks at me, looks at the Bear, and says: “How do you guys get along?”

Good question. Papa Bear went to a party tonight after the movie (Invictus = good!) and I told him I would rather sit on my living room floor assembling a TV stand than go. And don’t tell everyone I said hi. They might get the wrong idea about me and invite me somewhere.

Pain.

They invite you because you’re with me and they assume that you’re the same type of person that I am. I love that we’re different in that aspect. Believe me if you want but, it’s one of the things that I love most about you.

This is why we are such good friends! Social awkwardness is much less embarassing when I know other awesome people glory in it as much as I do rather than trying to ‘fix’ it.

Why am I the only sister with someone who doesn’t want to socialize all day and night? I’ve become more of a homebody in my old age (kids=exhaustion) so it works out quite well. Ryan and I consistently turn down parties and anything “extra” to stay home and watch our recorded shows (biggest loser and SYTYCD). We’re losers like you!

Ah, we are so much alike. I love assembling tv stands…oh and also I dislike being around other human life forms. Talking to people I don’t know or barely know sounds like the worst thing in the world to me.

Party on Mom!! I hope it’s okay that I call you that. Vicky just feels weird to me.

I think we should form a stick in the mud club but that would involve getting together and having a meeting and that would defeat the purpose. I too would just rather not on the party subject. Every time I read your blog I find we are more and more alike. Scary!!

Did anyone take after mom? I think everyone of her kids is pretty much a stick in the mud.

Who came up with the term ’stick in the mud’? Weird.
